You can choose whether you want a longer or a shorter trip.

The short tour is called the 2 hour tour. The longer tour is called the 3-4 hour tour. The full-day tour is called the 6-8 hour tour.
Extra adventure tours – can be arranged according to customer requests and suggestions.

For the tour it is recommended that you bring a packed lunch and some water or a thermos bottle with a hot drink to enjoy at the break during the trip. By the way, think about wearing warm footwear and thick mittens and headgear according to the weather. If you don’t have anything yourself, I can provide, depending on what sizes I have in stock, provide winter boots, one-piece suits, mittens and the like.

Thorough communication from the start

My dogs are located in “Dog Village” from where my tours usually start.

You walk or drive along the main road up past Hotel Sisimiut and pass the red folk high school on your left until you come to the bus turning point at the waterworks. There you follow the gravel road to the left all the way down the hill where it turns right and goes out towards the river. After a few hundred meters, the snow groomer machine and dog sled turn off the track to the right at a large blue waste container. From there, around 75m to the right you can see a larger light green cabin “The Dog Shed” with a window facing the road and a dog kennel thereby. It’s my base of operations. I’m probably preparing for the dog sled ride when you find me.

Description of various dog sledding destinations

2 hours tour. Shorter trips can be made without driving up to the mountain tops, for example:

  1. Up the ‘Leg Breaker’ to the lake. Short coffee break there and then down the east trail in the other valley.
  2. The tour starts west, down around the Ulkebugten hut and along the mountain eastwards until you cross the ‘Leg Breaker’ trail and continue the eastern track to the Bottleneck, where the snowmobile trail unites with the dogsled trail. There we will have a short coffee break before making our way back home.
  3. Directly along the east track up smaller hills and ends at the Bottleneck area with a short coffee break before the return trip.

3-4 hours tour. Medium tours will take driving up to and over mountain tops, for example:

  1. The so-called UFO tour goes along the lakes and north up the Leg Breaker and down the other side with the fjord view with a break at the UFO cabin before the return trip.
  2. A similarly long trip as the UFO tour, goes along the east track to the ‘Bottleneck’ and from there along the snowmobile track up the mountain all the way out to Udsigten, where you can look over the 1st fjord area. Coffee break there before the trip home.

6-8 hours tour. Longer tours can take different terrain paths, for example:

  1. Over the mountain to Udsigten and down at the other side and continue along the fjord to the 1st fjord cabin or to the lake behind and make coffee/lunch before the return trip.
  2. Over the mountain to Udsigten and down at the other side along the 1st fjord, then up the mountain to the UFO cabin by the back road and home from there.

Extra adventure tours. Can be arranged according to customer requests and suggestions, for example:

  1. Over the mountain and follow the track inland all the way to Amerloq/Narsaq, and spending the night in comfortable cabin and go back home the next day. Approx. 6 hours each way.
  2. Other long trips by appointment.
